Community Development
People are at the heart of everything we do. Our community-led approach begins with listening — gaining a deep understanding of the complex, layered realities people face. We focus not on delivering aid, but on creating the space for communities to steer their own growth and wellbeing.
Through our partners, we remain connected to developments on the ground. They work shoulder-to-shoulder with these communities, co-developing ideas, strengthening local solutions, and nurturing conditions where people can thrive on their own terms.
This is not charity; it is collaboration. Not handouts, but hands held in solidarity.
Through a community-based approach (CBA), Hasanah aims to build lasting resilience — so that communities not only recover from challenges, but rise stronger, more self-reliant, and equipped to shape a better future.

Breaking Tradition: Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah’s Digital Revolution
For generations, the women of Pasar Siti Khadijah have relied on face-to-face interactions to sell their goods. But now, 30 traditional market sellers are breaking away from the old-school way of doing business.
Through a digital literacy program by Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan (YOKUK), these women are mastering e-commerce platforms like Shopee, expanding their market reach beyond the pasar. By embracing digital tools, they are future-proofing their businesses against disruptions and proving that tradition and technology can go hand in hand.
Mental Health Warriors of PPR Batu Muda
Mental health issues often go unnoticed in low-income communities, especially among youth and women. In PPR Batu Muda, Thrive Well is changing that by embedding mental health support within the community itself.
Through house visits, sharing sessions, and leadership training, local women and community ambassadors are stepping up to provide safe spaces for community members to discuss their struggles. By addressing mental resilience, this initiative is also helping women sustain their small businesses, proving that well-being and economic stability go hand in hand.
