GLC/ GLIC Demi Rakyat & Negara (GDRN)

Established as Government-Linked Companies (GLC) and Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLIC) Disaster Response Network (GDRN) back in 2013 to coordinate aid efforts, GDRN was later reintroduced as GLC Demi Rakyat dan Negara (GDRN).

The aim: to expand reach and deepen its impact among the B40 community and other vulnerable groups. Recognising the urgency of broader support, the initiative evolved beyond its original humanitarian focus to also encompass areas such as education and holistic well-being. Since its revival, GDRN has taken the lead in driving sustained and structured corporate social responsibility efforts across the GLC network, with a clear emphasis on improving lives.

Under Hasanah Disaster Relief and the GLC/GLIC Demi Rakyat & Negara (GDRN) initiative, Yayasan Hasanah and Khazanah Nasional Berhad disbursed a combined RM200.67 million*, benefitting:

Cruyff Courts

Since 2012, Yayasan Hasanah (“Hasanah”) in collaboration with Johan Cruyff Foundation has funded and developed eight Cruyff Courts nationwide — one each in Johor, Pahang, Kedah, and Kelantan, and three in low-income urban areas of Kuala Lumpur.

Brainchild of Dutch professional football player, the late Hendrik Johannes Cruijff, Cruyff Courts across the globe are safe spaces for children to embark in sports and play, free-of-charge.

The court in Kg. Bharu, Kuala Lumpur was officially launched last year. It was inaugurated in early 2022 through a partnership between Hasanah and the Malay Agricultural Settlement.

Hasanah aims to add seven more by 2026.
